AMERICAN LANDSCAPE QUILT

This quilt was created in 1981. I made 42 separate oil paintings, each 10" x 13" and then I sewed them together in strips of seven paintings and then all six strips together. I did this (with great patience) on my 15 foot long dining room table in Portland, Maine.

The quilt was exhibited in "American Crafts Today," an exhibition in the San Francisco Airport as well as in several museums around the country. Two months before my daughter's wedding, just in time to help the celebrations, the quilt was purchased as a gift for his wife by Mr. Albert Glickman of Cape Elizabeth, Maine and it remains in their collection today.
