Updated January 31, 2000 Here I am again in the New Millenium. In the past three weeks I've spoken with at least ten "dot com" companies. When I go to industry related meetings, at least fifteen people get up and say they are working for a new dot com which is in "stealth mode." Oi vey. Now it's looking like there will be a shakeout by the end of summer. All of these companies have identical problems and each one feels that they are completely unique. Great luck for a Consultant like Sherry Miller? Yes and no. We have the answers but not the real listening audience. Stay tuned for the next big adventure. Meanwhile I am writing a column about privacy issues for PrivacyPlace.com. To the horror of the editor, Tom Maddox, a writer of fiction about science, I don't have a clear position on privacy issues. I feel that our privacy has long ago been completely compromised, and yet there are still issues to talk about and address. The big question is why do we care what people know about us? Tell me what you think. Check back here. I'm starting to update
the site. Content is coming back, now that the e-commerce nightmare
is settling in. In New York City I like to eat at restaurants that were
there in 1959. I'm beginning to want to see websites that have been
up since 1995, like this old buzzard. |
